REVIEW
The Plot Thickens is the second novel in the Sémya Slotin Mystery Series by Danielle-Claude Ngontang Mba. This installment tells the story of Polliannah, who made a small cameo appearance in Bird of Prey and managed to capture everyone's attention in doing so. In Bird of Prey, you discover Polliannah ran away with her "Prince Charming", John Allen, supposedly in love. This novel reveals a deep array of secrets and deception no one could have possibly guessed.
I think I liked this book even more than the first. Polliannah's story is woven and intricate, and I love that not all her secrets were just blasted out in one quick paragraph. Ngontang Mba keeps you guessing with this one, all the way through. John is swoon-worthy and mysterious and I enjoyed how he put Polliannah over his work when he realized he was in love.
I recommend this to lovers of thrillers and romance novels. Nicely done.
