Madman Across the Water
By- Caroline Angel
Genre- Horror
For generations one family has been haunted by something... something that stalks. It sees and listens, it watches and follows. In the shadows and mist it waits, to take you, to hurt you, perhaps to kill you. And if it doesn't kill you, you’ll wish it did.
A creepy, suspenseful saga of family, horror, and mystery, this is one story sure to leave you frightened of the woods at night, fog, and all things tall and slender.
Character Bios:
Harriet : A sweet, preteen daughter of Sheriff Wallis, sister of Ayden (one of the first teens to see the Slenderman).
She is tall, has long, blonde curly hair and a desire to dress older than she is. Her mother works long hours and Harriet is left to her own quite a bit, but is a mature, trustworthy girl and does not get into trouble.
Sheriff Wallis : Strong, tall and reliable, the sheriff grew up in the town and was elected to office not long after he married his childhood sweetheart. Widowed when his only son was very young, he had a brief affair that resulted in little Harriet. Wallis has lived with the ‘curse’ his whole life, having experienced his childhood friends go missing when they were kindergarten age. While he battles to keep the town safe he despairs that he may not be able to save his family.
Josiah : A direct relative of the sheriff, Josiah was born in the 1800’s and came to this part of the country on a wagon train. He unwittingly cursed his entire bloodline on the same day his mother, father and two siblings were taken from him by the Slenderman. He lived a year with the Native American tribe that gladly handed him over to the white people when they came looking for him. He was a troubled, quiet child, estranged from the towns folk and feared for his connection to the monster that haunts the woods.
