And here is our interview with Author, Addison Winters
Let’s start off with you telling us a little bit about yourself and your latest project.
~A little about myself? Let’s see…I’m married, have a son who is an NCO in the Army and deployed in Kuwait, my oldest daughter is going to college just outside San Francisco and my youngest daughter is a senior in high school this year…WOW, that really makes me sound/feel old. I also have three dogs and a very overweight cat. And by overweight, he’s 30 pounds, resembles Garfield and has a very bad attitude. Oh, and his name is aptly fitting…Chubbies.
~My latest project has been Book 2 in my With Honors series, Making the Dean’s List. I’ve been working on it all summer and really loving the characters and the storyline. It’s very sexy, delicious, and sultry all rolled up in a ball with a splash of the pleasure principles thrown in for good measure.
When did you know you wanted to be an author?
~For as long as I can remember I’ve always had an overactive imagination and loved creating stories and characters. I started writing short stories in grade school, but didn’t actually start writing my first book until I was 21. I can assure you, it’s really terrible but is still sitting on a flash drive. I’ve considered going back and playing with it, but right now I’m trying to balance both my YA series (the EVE series) and erotica series (the With Honors series) so I have plenty to keep myself busy for the foreseeable future.
What are three things you must have to write?
~Coffee, gummy bears, & cigarettes (although I am trying to quit)
What’s your writing space look like?
~Organized chaos would be a very accurate description of my work space.
Do you have a favorite genre to write in?
~I write a YA Fiction series and an adult erotica series and I absolutely love them both. They are two very distinctly different genres and each is a great distraction from the other.
Do you have a favorite amongst your characters?
~ My favorite would be Lisa from With Honors series. She’s a wise-cracking, quick-witted, and feisty divorced mother of three who always has an opinion about the choices the main character makes. My other favorite character in my YA series, the EVE series, would be the MC Jocelyn Timmons. She’s loosely based on my daughter and I’ve really enjoyed writing about her adventurous life.
What can we expect next from you?
~The 3rd book in my EVE series, Perception releases next month and the 2nd book in my With Honors series, Making the Dean’s List releases in December. Next year will see the 4th and final book, Illumination in the EVE series and the 3rd installment, Transferring Credits in the With Honors series, but also the 1st book in the spin-off from the EVE series…the Spirit Quest series.
This or That-
*Coffee or Tea?
~I have an ever so slight addiction to coffee and cannot function without a minimum of a pot every morning.
*Ebook or Paperback?
~Personally, I prefer paperbacks. I love to hold it in my hands, throw it in my purse to take with me when I’m out n’ about or pick up whenever I have a free moment.
*Book or Movie?
~Books all the way. While I love a good movie, I prefer books any day of the week to loose myself in. A movie just does not have the same impact on you mentally or emotionally that a book does. There is nothing quite comparable to crawling into a good book and drifting off into the author’s imagination.
*Winchesters or Salvatores?
~While there is something very sexy about the Salvatores (especially Damon), I am definitely a Winchester’s fan. I have a serious Dean crush!!
*Chocolate or Vanilla?
~(Lindt) Chocolate!!!
I wish I could say that it was easy or that college was everything I had dreamed about and that first semester went off without a hiccup. I could say that, but I’d be lying. It was hard. So freaking damn hard. There were times when all I wanted to do was quit and return to my mind-numbing day job. Some night I would stare at my assignments and cry because I was never going to understand the material no matter how many times I read it.
There were times that I truly hated the younger students in my classes who picked up the material easily, who never opened a book and aced every exam without ever studying. It didn’t seem fair. I busted my ass late at night after I’d cooked and cleaned up dinner and helped my boys with their homework. There were more sleepless nights than I cared to count.
