GHBT- Wolves and the River of Stone by Eric R. Asher- Review

Wolves and the River of Stone
Vesik Series #2
By Eric R. Asher
Publication Date: October 25th, 2013

Philip, Zola's boyfriend from one hundred and fifty years ago, is not nearly as dead as we thought. I really wish he was. Not only has he kidnapped Zola, but he's raising an army to scour humanity from the earth. Hopefully the local werewolf pack will help. What could possibly go wrong?

REVIEW

Wolves and the River of Stone is the second book in the Vesik series by Eric R. Asher. This book picks up with the same amazing characters in the first book, Days Gone Bad (you can find my review of that HERE). If I've said it once I've said it a million times--I hate sequels. Not because I don't want to see my favorite characters again, but because when I fall in love with a book, it always feels like the second book can never measure up to all that book one had been. BUT in this case, that is not true...dare I say, I think this was even BETTER than book one.

Asher continues to astound me with his captivating writing style. From the very first words you read, you are sucked into the story and there is no way of stopping yourself from locking your door and refusing to do anything real-life-related until you know what's happened to Zola, Damien and co. I adored the first book in this series and I think I loved this one even more. Now I really can't wait to jump into Winter's Demon and see where the story goes!

There are so many things I want to gush about right now, but since it IS the second book I'm really at a loss for words. Aside of the fact Asher has created a fantastical novel all over again, with more action, gore, suspense and thrill than even before, there's not much I can say that won't either A) sound like I'm repeating my first review or B) spoil the whole thing. This book is so descriptive that you really need to be paying attention through the laughing and being-sucked-in-ing, or you might miss one of those awesome twists Asher has in store for you.

Bravo, Eric! You've impressed me once again.
