GHBT- 'The Power Couple' by Tyffani Clark Kemp Tour - Review of The Power Couple & Excerpt

The Power Couple
Without Rules Series # 3
By- Tyffani Clark Kemp
Publication Date- September 11, 2014

After the loss of her husband and her preterm baby, Mariss Red is finally starting to put her life back together. She's in a semi-stable relationship and her publishing business is doing well. None of that can fill the hole in her heart, but she's a survivor. Her newest obstacle? Maneuvering the hazy boundaries of an open relationship with a man who can't be bound by rules.

Sebastian Boa, The Man Without Rules, struggles to live an honorable life. Mariss meets and approves any woman he happens to bring home and things are going well, aside from the occasional miscommunication. It's bound to happen, since he's never been in a steady relationship before. But he knows Mariss is keeping something from him, and he knows it's probably another man.

A trip to Paris is meant to be a romantic break for the strange couple, but it ends up in disaster when Sebastian catches Mariss with her secret lover. Add a crazed fangirl trying to seduce Sebastian, a man who has found that rules just might work for him after all. If it means he keeps Mariss in his life. It seems The Power Couple may never catch a break.

And here is an Excerpt from The Power Couple

Sebastian's hands clamped tight around her waist and his lips pressed to her ear. “We can if you want."

“No. Let me go, Sebastian." He released her and Mariss ripped her clothes off and got in the shower. “She looks a lot like me," she said. The water was too hot so she turned it down.

“She has similarities, but she's not you by far."

“Well, that's good to know."

“Mariss, nothing happened."

“She doesn't seem to think that."

“Well, I don't know why she wouldn't. The most that happened was…“

Mariss shook her head as he trailed off. “What? Did you go back to her room?"

“Yes."

“Did you get undressed? How far did you make it before the sounds she was making weren't enough like mine?"

“Oh, my god. Mariss." Sebastian growled and it was sexier than she would have liked for the situation. “I took my shirt off, alright? She wanted me to feel some fabric-"

“You fell for that?" She actually laughed because it was so ridiculous.

“She's a designer."

“I don't care what the fuck she is. You should have told me."

“There hasn't been the chance."

“Whatever. Sebastian, I think I just need some space." The words were out before she could stop them, but she meant them nonetheless. Fear and pain flickered through Sebastian's beautiful blue eyes and he rocked back gently as if struck by her words before he regained his composure.

“Where will you go?"

“I don't know. I just need…”

“To be away from me?" He sounded angry, but Mariss knew he was covering his hurt with the other emotion.

“Yes. And your dumbfuckery. I swear, Bassy. Get in this fucking shower with me before I rip your clothes off."

Review

The Power Couple by Tyffani Clark Kemp is the third book in The Without Rules Series. Once again we find Mariss and Bassy in very tense situations where they typically end up naked and rather angry with each other. In this installment, Mariss and Bassy are in an "open" relationship with conditions. Mariss meets and approves any woman Sebastian might find himself entangled with. But she's not telling Sebastian she is carrying on with someone else, as well...

I think this book is the most twisted of all three--in a good way. There is a LOT going on here and it makes it absolutely impossible to want to put this one down and go do anything else with your day. I just wanted to sit in a dark room with my Kindle and zoom through this book until the end I hoped never came. It was SUCH a good book and I cannot wait to read more from Kemp!

My Rating:

About the Author-

Tyffani Clark Kemp has been writing since she discovered in the sixth grade that it wasn’t enough just to read about fantastic places, but she could create her own. She weaves small bits of herself into everything she writes whether it be a science fiction piece about aliens or a dramatic romance fraught with conflict and love. She lives in South Carolina with her family and her fluffy shii tzu-mix dog who thinks he’s a Saint Bernard.
