GHBT- 'Winter's Demon' by Eric R. Asher Tour- Days Gone Bad Review & Giveaway

Days Gone Bad
Vesik Series # 1
By Eric R. Asher
Genre- Urban Fantasy

My name is Damian Valdis Vesik. I am a necromancer, an ability feared and hated as much as the powers my master and I set ourselves against. We've vanquished many evils, but now something is releasing an old darkness, forcing us to hunt an enemy beyond anything I’ve faced before. I was already busy enough with vampires, fairies, witches, Watchers, weddings, and … damn, I need a vacation.

Days Gone Bad is the first book is the Vesik Series by Eric R. Asher. It's a paranormal/fantasy book that follows Damian Vesik, a necromancer [and also my boyfriend (no exceptions on that, ladies and gentlemen, I have screamed dibs)] and he hunts demons. There is a LOT going on in this book--vampires, Fae, demons, etc.--and usually I don't like when a book goes off track and uses more than one paranormal element, but in this case, Asher blew it out of the park!

I cannot tell you one bad thing about this book--I absolutely loved it. This is the first time in a long time I've been completely blown away by a novel. The story is fast paced and keeps you guessing all the way through, and Damian is a THRILL. I adore books where the main character/protagonist is male (there aren't nearly enough out there), and Damian doesn't disappoint. He's hilarious, sarcastic and snarky, not to mention drop dead gorgeous. He had me laughing from the very first page and kept it going until the very end.

I will say this is NOT the book for the weak of stomach... There is GORE (wonderful, amazing gore #ilovegore) to the extreme and it's done so epically well... Oh how I LOVE when authors know what they're doing with a good bloody scene.

Again I will repeat that I adore this novel. It is probably the best paranormal I've ever read, and definitely one of my favorite books of 2014 so far. I am jumping RIGHT into Wolves and the River of Stone TONIGHT and nothing and no one can stop me. Asher has a lifelong fan in me!

(plus, can I just say cover love...)

About the Author-

Eric is a former bookseller, guitarist, and comic seller currently living in Saint Louis, Missouri. A lifelong enthusiast of books, music, toys, and games, he discovered a love for the written word after being dragged to the library by his parents at a young age. When he is not writing, you can usually find him reading, gaming, or buried beneath a small avalanche of Transformers.
